I remember hearing her voice for the first time, I was at Amoeba Records in LA. I worked for MCA at the time and a store employee would always ask me about the J-Dilla MCA album (that never made it to see the light of day and was one of MCA’s biggest mess ups). This employee knew any J-Dilla or Soul Music releases to put aside for me. He handed me “Soul Sessions 2″. The first song “No Use” Jazzanova got me so open!!!! Who is this on vocals, I aksed myself? It was Clara Hill. She is now one of my favorite vocalists. Almost every week we play her music on Soul Conversations. Buy her music!!!
